English – Marianne den Hartog

Situated 20 km from Amsterdam, bordering on IJmeer you will find the small village Muiderberg, known for its beach and harbour with surfers and sailing boats.

Here is where I have lived for many years. In the garden I have my creative sanctuary where I design colourful art objects, made of polyester, ceramics, molten glass and broken tiles. I use mosaic a lot but because I have introduced many different techniques you can also label it Ceramics Assemblage.

Most of the porcelain I find in Belgium and France but I also love to work with old Dutch delft blue shards provided by Royal Porceleyne Fles, the only remaining factory of the 32 earthenware factories that were established in Delft in the 17th century.

One-off design

All my objects, mostly vases because I love flowers, are a unique, one-off design. If you would like to see and sense my designs, please visit Menno Kroon in Amsterdam. Menno Kroon has the exclusive sale for all my objects and you will find him in the beautiful neighbourhood of Amsterdam South, home to a decadent mix of culture and shopping. Click here to access Menno Kroon his website.
